Organizing Your Kitchen
The kitchen is the heart of the home and, as such, we spend a ton of time in it. We don’t know about you, but it seems that every time we have a guests over, we tend to hover around the room with the food. Maybe it’s human nature to stay close to the food source, but we like to think it’s more than that. Creating a kitchen is that is as beautiful as it is functional is the perfect way to ensure that the kitchen you have is exactly the kitchen you need. We rounded up our favourite tips and tricks to really transform your kitchen!
Kitchen Command Center
We all have that little corner of our home that seems to be the dumping ground for the random things in our life. Ciburbanity took a small space and turned it into something highly functional. It’s not only beautiful, but it also makes so much sense. No one wants to have to hunt through a drawer full-- and we all have that drawer-- of mixed-and-matched things to find a pen, or piece of paper. With this wonderful command center everything is organized and at hand.
And how easily adaptable is this design?! We can completely imagine adding dark, exposed wood and galvanized buckets to give it an entirely different, but equally functional design. No need to hunt for anything again when you’ve got everything organized and at hand!
Recipe Board Wall with Platter Rails
Easily accessible and completely stunning, these filled platter rails are as much of a design feature as the recipe wall is. We like your thinking Thistlewood Farms!
On walls that aren’t wide or deep enough to allow for hutch storage, this is a beautiful alternative: you get to add artistry and functionality to a space that might otherwise have been a forgotten, blank, beige wall. Talk about utilizing your space.
We picture an old family recipe for Yorkshire Pudding on the wall with the platter your mom served Sunday dinner on: what a perfect homage!
Double-Deep Drawer Utensil Storage
This got us a little more excited than it probably should have, but after seeing it, we know you feel the same way. This double-deep upright drawer storage would make accessing any of your cooking utensils an absolute breeze!
Organizing your utensils into individual sections will ensure that you can find anything you need while you’re cooking. We’d sort ours by the material and usage of the utensil: metal, plastic, and wood, spatulas with scrapers, whisks with spoons, you get the drift.
No more searching through drawers to find that one utensil you need to make your meal. Sounds like a dream to us!
When you’ve got a little bit of extra space that’s in a little bit of an awkward place, using it for some inconspicuous storage seems like the best option. Carving out a corner like was done here keeps your small appliances at the ready without sacrificing your counter space.
There are numerous sources that recommend swapping out your baseboards for shallow drawers for storing cookie sheets, muffin tins, and baking pans; think about that too. There are lots of places for you to find some sneaky and discrete storage space in the kitchen you have!
